After a night of heavy clubbing, the last thing on your mind would be lunch. However, as I force myself out of bed - feeling nauseous and drowsy - I made my way to the restaurant with my family.

Here, at Amoy Street, is one of the authentic Hokkien eateries in Singapore, well known for its yam pudding and pork buns. The oyster omelette made my mouth water too... The oysters were plenty and fresh, and the egg was done to perfection - crispy. Although Im not a big fan of oysters, that dish certainly changed my mind.

The atmosphere is certainly not posh, as the place is filled with senior citizens and large families chattering away. Do not expect superb service either as the servers are hardened veterans from an era where service-with-a-smile was unheard of. However, despite all these, the food will make up for it.

Overall, $20 could afford you a reasonable lunch, considering the freshness, variety and taste of the food.
